Apocalypse or Bust?

Collapse and apocalypse are longstanding tropes in speculative fiction, and games are no exception. The world can end for any number of reasons: war; pandemic; AI gone mad; natural disasters; technological collapse; resource scarcity; supernatural prophecy… zombies (again?) Yet, in a time which feels like we are all already living within a work of dystopian fiction, why are apocalyptic games so popular?  Join Anthony, Paul and Erin, gaming academics (or is that academic gamers?) from RMIT, for an exploration of the End of the World, and why we all want to play there already. Come and join the conversation – what’s your favourite apocalyptic game, and why?
