PAX Aus Badge Purchase - Terms & Conditions

Quick Start Guide

  • Ticket / Badges are non-refundable (except where applicable under relevant legislation / regulations), are non-transferrable and cannot be reproduced, resold, or upgraded.
  • Badges are limited to six (6) per transaction. Please note, if you purchase over the badge limit, PAX has the right to cancel your badges.
  • No replacement of lost, stolen, or forgotten badges.
  • Badges purchased by Australian residents prior to midnight (12am) 25 August 2024 will be delivered via mail.
  • You need to be over 18 to use a credit card to purchase a badge and over 15 to attend PAX without a parent or guardian
  • You agree you could be recorded and photographed and agree that we can use such recordings and photographs for marketing purposes
  • You obey the Rules of PAX: (1) drugs are bad, (2) don’t steal, (3) don’t punch or kick people, (4) no cheating, (5) don’t harass anyone and (6) don’t mess with things that aren’t yours.
  • If you need to apply for a badge refund due to medical reasons, you must contact us within seven (7) days and provide a medical certificate. Any applications for refunds past this point will not be accepted. 

The Long Version

Resale and Refunds

The unauthorized resale or attempted resale of the badge is prohibited and will constitute a forfeiture of the badge without compensation. Each badge must be used by the same person for each day of the Event.

PAX Aus will only offer a refund or exchange of a badge if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the rescheduled or relocated event) or to the extent otherwise required by law.

PAX Aus will provide a refund or exchange of badge to any customer who feels unwell and has been directed by a medical professional to stay at home. To request a refund or exchange of badge please email [email protected] with a medical certificate or applicable evidence on or before 18 October 2024. Any requests after this date will not be processed.

Approved media and content creator applicants are entitled to a refund of a purchased badge if requested by email to our PR agency Rocket Comms by the badge mailout deadline of 20 August 2024 at [email protected]. Any applications for refunds past this point will not be accepted. 

Transaction Limit

Badges are limited to six (6) per badge type. If you require more than six badges, you must notify us at [email protected] or your order may be cancelled. This is to prevent scalping.

Age Restriction

It is a condition of sale that minors do not purchase PAX badges. PAX Australia has restricted content so anyone 14 years or under at the time of PAX must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian during the event.

Children 6 and under can enter free without a badge, provided they're accompanied by an adult with a valid badge..

Due to classifications legislation, you must bring photo ID and proof of age when you attend or you may be restricted from entering PAX Aus. 

MA15+ games can only be played by those 15 and over. R18+ games can only be viewed or played by those 18 and over. 

Badge Delivery and Pick Up

If you purchase badges prior to our cut-off date of 25 August 2024 they will be delivered to you via mail with dispatch commencing September 2024. Purchasers are responsible for ensuring the correct mailing information is provided at time of purchase and PAX does not take any responsibility for incorrect information provided. PAX Aus is not responsible for unforeseen shipping delays by Australia Post.

Badges purchased after this time and international badge purchases will be available for collection from the badge collection desk at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from the Wednesday prior to the event. More details on badge pick up hours will be announced on our website and social media accounts.

Badge Activation

Each badge holder must register their badge with their individual details in order to activate the badge.

Event Details

The Event’s operating hours, schedules, guests and speakers are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Each badge is a revocable license to attend the Event.

All panels, autographing, photo ops, special events, show features and performances are subject to availability and access is not guaranteed.

Photos and Videos

In purchasing this badge and in consideration for being admitted to the Event, each badge holder consents to being recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) and authorizes and permits RX Global, Penny Arcade and their designees which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity

Holder agrees not to make any recordings of any kind at designated activities without the express written permission of RX Global and Penny Arcade. 

Rules

Each badge holder agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the event.

PAX Aus strives to create and maintain an environment where all people are treated with dignity, decency, and respect. As such, we expect every PAX Aus “participant” in any manner whatsoever, including, but not limited to, all exhibitors, attendees, speakers, guests, professionals, media, staff members, workers, contractors, vendors, security, or anyone else who participates in any way, to behave appropriately throughout the event in accordance to our rules.

Please be aware of and respect the personal boundaries of your fellow participants so that everyone can enjoy their time at the event.

We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind including, but not limited to: stalking; intimidation; offensive verbal comments; physical assault and/or battery; threats; harassing or non-consensual photography or recording; sustained disruption of presentations and other events; bathroom policing; inappropriate physical contact; unwelcome physical attention; sexually explicit, suggestive and/or provocative behaviour, signage or clothing; hate symbols.

in relation to, but not limited to: race; colour; national origin; gender; gender identity; gender presentation; sexual orientation; marital status; age; body size; disability; appearance; religion; citizenship; pregnancy.

By participating in the event in any way, each participant agrees and acknowledges to RX Global, Penny Arcade and its event partners (“management”) that they will not, and will not directly or indirectly cause others to, do any of the following prohibited activities in connection with the event:

1.     interfere with, damage, or engage in any act which disrupts the operation of the event in any way, including but not limited to, obstructing aisles or entrances or exits, running, cutting in line, saving places in lines for others, jumping over barriers or guardrails, using foul language, screaming, yelling, encouraging disruptive behaviour from others, disobeying any time limits, directions or prohibitions provided to participant by management’s staff and/or moderators, or preventing any other participant from Participating in the event by any means;

2.     distribute, wear, transmit, upload, display or otherwise circulate any content which is inaccurate, unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, harassing, threatening, abusive, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable to management in management’s sole discretion;

3.     distribute printed or recorded materials of any kind unless prior written approval has been obtained from management;

4.     impersonate any other person or entity or perform any similar fraudulent activities;

5.     sell goods or services, display goods or services, distribute goods or services, make solicitations of any kind, or conduct any commercial activities without the prior written approval of management;

6.     harvest, collect, or attempt to collect the personal information, email addresses or other contact information of other participants in the event without the consent of such participants;

7.     defame, harass, abuse, threaten or defraud other participants in the event.

8.     circumvent, disable, damage, remove or otherwise interfere with the security, integrity, or proper conduct of the event;

9.     access any unauthorised part of the event designated as only for management use;

10. access any digital platform associated with the event by means of any robot, spider, scraper, crawler or other automated means for any purpose;

11. participate in the event for any illegal purpose, or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation, including, without limitation, laws governing intellectual property and other proprietary rights, data protection and privacy;

12. smoke within the Venue which includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, vape pens, and marijuana;

13. drink or possess alcohol within the venue outside of the specifically designated areas. No one under the age of 18 may consume alcohol within or around the venue;

14. use, sell, possess, or distribute any illegal drugs or other illegal substances, including, but not limited to, any medication that has not been legally obtained, is not being used in its intended dosage or for its intended purpose;

15. assault, steal, fight, engage in or incite violence of any kind, including, but not limited to, verbal threats of violence; and

16. possess and/or use any of the following prohibited items in connection with the event:

  • a firearm, ammunition, knife, or weapon of any kind
  • objects or toys that appear to be firearms, ammunition, knives, or weapons (See cosplay weapon rules for more information. Link to rules)
  • self-defense or restraining devices
  • fireworks or other explosive or flammable objects
  • glass containers
  • recreational devices such as drones, remote control toys, skateboards, scooters, inline skates or shoes with built-in wheels
  • folding chairs
  • balloons

If a person engages in behaviour in violation of our rules at any time, we will take prompt action in any form deemed appropriate, including expulsion from the event with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE participating in PAX Aus. ALL participants are subject to our rules.

Please note that anyone can report harassment or prohibited activities to event staff/security at any time. If someone’s behaviour has made you uncomfortable, if you witness harassment happening to someone else, or if you witness someone doing prohibited activities, you should immediately proceed to the Info Desk near the Clarendon Street entrance of the MCEC or contact the nearest event staff/security. If necessary, security or event staff will contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment.

Risks

The Attendee acknowledges there are hazards and risks of physical injury or illness to Attendees of the Event and that not all such hazards or risks can be fully eliminated. By accepting this badge and attending the Event, the Attendee freely and voluntarily agrees to assume the full risk of bodily injury or property damage, regardless of severity, or death that Attendee may sustain as a result of attending the Event, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of RX Global.

The badge holder also hereby releases RX Global, Penny Arcade and their agents/designees from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind.

Merchandise

Exclusive PAX Aus merchandise is available for pre-order for a limited time. Your order must be collected on site at the event and will not be shipped. You will receive additional information a week before the event with specific pick-up instructions. Failure to collect the merchandise at the event will mean the purchase is null and void and no refund will be given. Your order will not be refunded for change of mind. Order cancellation and refund will occur if the minimum order is not met.

International Visitors

A valid visa may be required to enter Australia. For information about visas contact the Australian Embassy in your country.

We do not issue Letters of Invitation to visitors that wish to attend PAX Aus. ‘Your Order Confirmation for PAX Aus’ that is automatically generated and sent via email after purchasing a badge should be used by visitors when they are applying for a visa to enter Australia.

Lost or Stolen Badges

RX Global is not responsible for lost, stolen or forgotten badges.
